The nice thing about a place like this is that once you find the right people, they tend to stick around. So, positions rarely become available due to attrition. Midlife Classics is a small shop with an over-abundance of projects in our backlog. While it is always nice to carry a backlog of work (ensures job security), it is time we grow our ranks so that we can get through projects in a more timely manner.
Every member of the Midlife Classics team must be able to demonstrate a mature and positive attitude in addition to a sincere enthusiasm for classic automobiles. Mechanical aptitude is mandatory, but professional experience is less important than a desire to work in an environment where you get to be around precious metal. We work closely with each other and in tight quarters, so it is vital that everyone be able to get along well with each other. We tend to have a lot of fun - often at each others expense, but always in good fun.
While experienced restoration craftsmen typically work out quite well, our experience has shown that true classic car enthusiasts and hobbyiests that have been mostly self-sufficient in maintaining their own classics often work well in this environment. The typical dealership line technicians and small repair shop mechanics just don't seem to understand that the cars we care for are not just transportation for their owners, but are something truly special and irreplaceable - and therefore require appropriate respect.
This is a small shop, so it is imperative that we're all able to get along well with each other. A positive attitude is a must. While maturity is expected, a good sense of humor and ability to "play well with others" is a big plus. A sincere respect for people from all walks of life is mandatory.
To apply, submit your resume and compensation requirements via email to hr@midlifeclassics.com. Phone calls, emails to any other email address and walk-in applications will not be accepted and would only serve to demonstrate an inability to follow directions.
