House Project

This '76 Scorpion was purchased out of Arizona as an in-house restoration project. It currently runs and yard drives, but water pump required replacement and the brake hydraulics require repair. The body is straight and rust-free, but it certainly requires a strip and paint. The interior is in very nice shape with freshly reupholstered seats.

Our intent is to upgrade/modify it to the European specifications of the Lancia Montecarlo. Since we have a third Scorpion that we bought as a parts car - specifically so that we could transplant its 2-liter HPE engine into this car. We also bought a 1985 Fiat 2000 Spider (with a blown rod) so that we could cannibalize it for its EFI. According to the Scorpion forums, a 2-liter engine with EFI will crank out about 135 HP and get about 35 mpg. With the rally cams that we're told are in the donor Scorpion's engine, we should see somewhere in the 250 HP range with this car when it's finished.

BEFORE YOU ASK ABOUT BUYING THIS CAR

Please note that this car was purchased
with the intent of restoring it.

It is not listed here for the purposes of selling it, so please don't call or email asking for a sale price. However, if you really do want to buy this car, feel free to make an offer. Do realize that this car was purchased for our own purposes as opposed to being purchased for resale. So, it will likely take an offer that is greater than what might be considered "market value".

If you are seriously interested in a completed car like this one and have some patience, Midlife Classics can work with you to restore this car (or one like it) to your personal specifications.
