A somewhat tragic story accompanies this TVR. It was a fun daily driver for the prior owner until one day an error in judgement while working on the fuel system ignited an engine fire while he was bent over the engine bay. Burns over the upper half of his body resulted in him deciding to sell this car rather than deal with repairing it.
Of course, everything under the bonnet that could burn did. The windshield and passenger window were shattered and the paint suffered some scorching and bubbling from the heat. The engine was supposed to have been rebuilt just prior to the fire, so the engine internals "should be" in good condition. But, with a replacement fuel injection system being out of the question, a carburetor converison is in order. We were told the suspension was rebuilt just prior to the fire as well, so it may be servicable as-is. Aside from the fire damage and a dismantled interior, the car is in good shape.
Its future is uncertain at this time. However, if it isn't restored, it may provide donor components for our '85 280i Series 1.5 and maybe it's chassis to our Fiberfab Jamaican II body.
